Yes, I did it. I finally made a blog. However, before you immediately conclude that I have taken leave of my senses, I must let you know that I am not committed to keeping it. I may stop updating at any time, or I may just keep going, depending on how busy I am and how useful I think it is. Mainly, I just wanted to see how many times I could use the word "I" in one paragraph. Let's see, that's twelve...
This post is going to be about me, the reason I made this blog, and what I plan to do with it. Since I'm too lazy to look online and find a Q&A for first-time bloggers, I think I'll make it up as I go along.
Q: Why did you make a blog?
Opposing Counsel: Objection, Your Honor. Leading the witness.
Q: Fine. What were you doing the afternoon of February 28, 2009?
A: Making a blog.
Q (looking triumphantly at opposing counsel): And why did you make this blog?
A: Because I was studying civil procedure, but I was getting really tired of studying, I know it doesn't happen very often, but it was happening that day, so I thought, "hey, my friends have blogs, I should make a blog, and it would let my family know what I'm up to while I'm away from home," because I'd just moved to Bakersfield, CA, from Corvallis, OR, and was away from my family for the first time in my life, so I decided to make a blog.
Judge: Let's just stick to yes or no questions, Counsel.
Q: Yes, Your Honor. So, you made this blog to let your friends and family know what you're up to in your new and exciting life?
A: Yes.
Q: And are you going to put all of your thoughts and activities on this blog?
A: No, I'm going to put your face's thoughts and activities on it. Duh.
OK, this isn't really working out. Let's try bullet pointing:
- I made this blog to talk about what I've been doing, and how I feel about that, so I'll have documentation of what it was like to go out on my own for the very first time after being home-schooled all my life and never knowing what the outside world was like. Oh yes, and I'll probably make random posts about random things that I find humorous.
- I haven't bothered to change the template/layout/overall look of this blog because (1) I'm not artistic and (2) I'm lazy. If you want a blog that looks brilliant, make your own.
- I'm probably not going to upload many pictures, because I don't own a camera and I'm not the picture-taking kind of guy. If I do upload pictures, they're probably from someone else's blog and/or Facebook account. Don't worry, I'll give credit where credit's due. (The picture in the upper-right was taken by my stepbrother-to-be, Casey.)
- I may talk about personal things on this blog. I didn't check "adult content" when I set this blog up, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to be childish ALL the time.
- I'll do my best not to go off-topic too much. As you can probably tell from this post, I have a habit of drifting from my point in an attempt to be humorous. Some of you, being my friends (and thus exactly like me, right?) may like that, but for those who are more serious-minded (don't worry, you're my friends too), there will hopefully be some good thought-provoking material to dwell on.
Yeah, that was much better. Now, on to the world of blogging...

He he! I like your 'Q&A'.

I love how we each felt somehow obligated to excuse or justify our making blogs. Saying in the first post exactly WHY we started a blog. Almost as if we need to explain our reasoning for doing something so out of character.
=) Welcome.
If I laugh so hard I fall off my chair and hit my head on the floor, should I sue you are the judge???
