When I first decided to go full-time work plus school, I calculated the amount of free time I would have and concluded that it would be no problemo.
Hours in Week: 168
Work: 40 hrs
School: 20 hrs
Sleep: 56 hrs
Church: 2 hrs
Devotions: 2 hrs (I don't really time myself with this one... "Hey! 15 minutes are up! See you later, God!")
Driving to and from work: 40 mins x 5 days = 3.5 hrs (sometimes there's traffic)
Eating: 14 hrs (1 hr for dinner, half each for lunch and breakfast)
Random Errands: 2 hrs
I still have 35.5 hours of free time every week! WHERE IS IT GOING?!?! (Actually, make that 34 hours. Blogging about how little time I have takes some time in itself.)
(a) The Big Bad Time Monster steals it all when I'm not looking. (I'm not too sure about the accuracy of this hypothesis, but I like the fact that it takes all the blame off me.)
(b) I spend 5 hours every day socializing.
So far I'm going with the Time Monster theory. Obviously, rational analysis isn't going to solve the mystery. Approximately 20 hours of each week (14 hrs of socialization is probably a semi-accurate rough estimate) is spent doing nothing productive, not accounted for. Interesting, isn't it?
Here's my poser for y'all. Try calculating how much time you spend each week doing things, categorizing it by activity. You might be surprised with how much you have left over. Then again, maybe I'm just abnormally lazy.

great post Landon. I've had similar thoughts. So true!
That's so funny, whenever I look at my schedule and plan on adding another big thing I add all my time up and see where my free time / responsibilities are at.
*gasp* You have more free time in a week, than you have school? How do you manage that?
